The founder of Alamo Driving School, Eddie "Skip" Gibson, lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 25 years. After being honorably discharged from the military with 28 years of service, he became a Driving Safety instructor with the US Postal Service.

As Alaska District's DSI (Driving Safety Instructor), Mr. Gibson served all of the postal facilities in Alaska with their needs for driver training for 15 years. He taught newly assigned postal workers the fundamentals and techniques of safely driving various postal vehicles.

Mr. Gibson is now passing it forward by utilizing his Military Skills and Postal Service background to assist new drivers in our community in becoming safer drivers. 

He says, "Our goal is to make a difference in our student's driving experience by impressing upon them the seriousness of becoming a Defensive Driver." 

Alamo Driving School's "Safe Driving Philosophy" demonstrates the fundamentals of staying focused while driving and teach the proper "Techniques of Safe Driving." These teachings will improve new driver's overall knowledge of our roadways."

Many are unaware that motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of casualties and injury among new drivers between the ages of 18-24!!
